Eleanor hit the jackpot this evening when we noticed the raspberries by the pond were ripe and plentiful, or at least plentiful enough to satisfy her appetite. This fall I hope to thin the patch out and improve the harvest next year. The raspberries were able to pull Eleanor away from the pond briefly.
When we spend time at the pond or in the woods, Eleanor is sure to be salamander hunting. She is fascinated with salamanders, both in their juvenile terrestrial phase and their adult aquatic phase. We are asked multiple times daily if we can go hunt for salamanders. Once caught, they are given the love only a 2 year old can bestow upon a small creature.
