Six more chickens came to Sweet Bear Farm today from our friends at Cedar Circle Farm in Thetford. They came to love with us after the other hens in their flock had an unfortunate incident with a Fischer. So far, the intgration process has been a little rocky, the alpha hens from our original flock and from the new ladies have been showing their dominance. They’re all currently in the coop/barn, although grudgingly and with some help from Jeremiah.
Eleanor is a big fan of the new chickens because they let her pick them up.
She was showing them their food, and letting them eat out of her hand.
We’ll see how the rest of the night goes, and hopefully we have lots of eggs in the morning!
