Purdy’s piglets are of considerable size now. I’d have to say they weigh as much, if not more, than Eleanor. They’ve been trained to mind the electric fence and enjoy running around the paddock and rutting. They chase each other and play. 

Eleanor is no longer a fan of being in the stall with them as they’ve developed a taste for grabbing on to boots and pant legs and nudging with their snouts. She has discovered that she can reach through the stall fencing…

…and get some piggie petting in. 

As the snow has been melting, we’ve been working on managing the runoff and Eleanor has been integral to that process 


We’re headed for a rainy end to the week, but in the meantime, we’ll continue to be out there soaking up the sunshine and making vitamin D while we work through spring chores.
