We had off farm business to attend to today which kept us away for 14 hours. With no power…and therefore no heat lamp or heater in the barn…with freezing temperatures last night, barely hitting the mid 40s today.

Purdy took it in stride….she took it upon herself to open her stall door with her snout when she had to poop, and then let herself back in – no stall messes for that clean mama. No, the door is not designed for that, but she’s a smart pig and figured out a way without breaking it. And she fed and kept her babies warm. Everyone is thriving. Purdy, you’re amazing.

Maybe tomorrow we’ll get power back…
