The last few days haven’t been pretty, but this morning we awoke to beautiful sunshine and a little revival of warm temperatures after Mother Nature reminded us that the cold days are acoming.
We’ve been busy preparing for winter on the farm. The pigs have their new house attached to the barn. They’re mostly settled in, and we’ve been doing a few modifications as the need comes about. The goal will be to breed the sows and have spring piglets.
And work on the sugar house continues.
Jeremiah has been doing all of the construction between night shifts, and regardless of the weather: rain, cold or snow; yes, that’s as fun as it sounds. He’s done a great job, despite that adversity and we are still aiming to start making maple syrup in spring 2017.
