Marigold, Violet and Gertrude have all produced beautiful litters of robust piglets. Hershel’s legacy continues with these litters of old spot – duroc – hampshire crosses, with the spots and red color off setting Sam’s black and white hampshire genes. Certainly the barn is full: with 3 sows, 29 piglets, 1 three month old gilt and a guernsey cow, the -2 degree cold was off set slightly in the barn last night.
