Work continued in the sugar woods on this beautiful day full of sunshine, and fresh snow! It’s looking like winter again, with the new blanket of white. And we’re predicted for another storm on Wednesday, so there is more skiing to be had! The skiing was a little crusty a couple nights ago, but it likely lovely now. Perhaps we’ll get out tomorrow.

All of the laterals and drops are up in the sugar bush, grand total still pending, but we’re over 500 taps. There are a few more we can add if there is time, but we have a fully closed system that will collect sap using the vacuum pump we purchased from Jack. Jeremiah has the pump tuned up and we moved in into it’s house today. There certainly are a few steps before we’ll be ready for the sap in the system, but we are leaps and bounds closer, in great part to the help of our parents, Bob, Marge, Mel and Paul who have been integral in this phase.

Eleanor has greatly enjoy extra time with her grandparents. Today she cooked lunch for Grandpa Bob, after she took him sledding on the epic hill that leads to the pond.
