Mother Nature brought us early snow this year, which meant we didn’t get some of our fall agenda complete before there was too much snow to get into the woods with the tractor. Then last week she brought us a ridiculous amount of rain and warmth which melted much of our snow pack. The thaw was followed by frigid temps which hardened what snow was left.
We’re quite disappointed by the loss of the sweet skiing conditions we had, but to make up for it, Jeremiah took advantage of the low snow conditions and pulled out next years firewood…as they say “make hay when the sun shines.”
Eleanor was out there helping, too, although, as a foreman, you have to take a lot of breaks.
The forecast has some promise of snow this week, bringing hope for those ski conditions to improve. Meanwhile, we should be warm next winter!
